Calling all WWII Veterans



D-Day Remembrance

This year will mark the 70th anniversary of the allied invasion of France, the turning point in World War II.  The South Lake County Historical Society is having a ceremony on Saturday, June 7th  at 11:00 AM to remember the valiant efforts of the men who participated in this historic event and as well as all the men and women who served their country during World War II.  All veterans attending will have an opportunity to tell their stories as we honor their service to our country and to everyone who enjoys all the freedoms available because of their sacrifices.  In addition; Pam Jones from Rep. Daniel Webster’s office will perform the National Anthem and Dr. Thomas Spencer, Bronze Medal winner during the Gulf War, will be the keynote speaker.

After the ceremony hot dogs, apple pie and sodas will be available.  The Historic Village is located at 490 West Ave., Clermont; the intersection of West Ave. and Osceola St.
